Once you have content and are accepted into Google Adsense and someone clicks one of your links your Adsense account will show the page impressions and a dollar amount that you were paid for that click that drives traffic to the site that the clicked on ad is routed to. But where does the money from that click come from? The money you just received came from the owner of the site that the link leads to. The opposite of Google Adsense is Google Adwords. Adwords is the flip side of the coin where in stead of getting paid for the links they pay to show the links. How it works is that a website owner joins Google Adwords and they pay Google a certain amount of money to advertise their site by displaying ads on sites and along the top and right side of searches using Google Search. The advertiser will set an amount from about $0.25 per click or more depending on the competition for the keyword terms that they are trying to associate their sites with. When a person online who is looking for something like their favorite book and they see a link for it advertising a discount they are more likely to click the link. For everytime someone clicks a Google Adword link then the advertiser's account is debited however much that click cost them to advertise. When that link is clicked then both you and google will split these click revenues. Some keywords cost $10.00+ dollars for one click and those will pay you big if you can figure them out and get many of these per day.
